Your SUMMARY: Create one that instantly connects with your reader!
Note: There are 5 videos to help you through this lesson. Scroll down to view them.
Your summary is in prime real estate on your LinkedIn profile. Right up top! Think of it as the "back cover" of your book. If someone reads it and is immediately intrigued, they are more likely to read the rest of your profile.
***Your assignment: Take a screenshot of your current summary.
Write your new summary, and make sure it shows some of your personality, and has strategic key words relevant to your goals for being on LinkedIn.
Watch the videos first, to get an idea of how you might write yours.
You do not need to make them exactly like the ones in the examples, but they should give you the ideas or concepts behind why they are effective.
Yours should be unique to you.
Here are the main concepts to grasp.
- Share some of the "personal" side first to grab attention.
- Share a brief version of your "story."
- Some vulnerability is ok, to help show you are relatable and genuine.
- Transition to your professional story and the passion for what you do. ie. Your "why."
- Include a "call to action" that continues to focus on building the relationship first.
Remember to watch the last video to see how you can add media, links, documents, etc to your summary! This is awesome!
